Nurturing young minds and hearts
Kindergarten is a special milestone for you and your child. At Intermountain Christian School, we offer a loving, supportive environment where kindergartners thrive as they find their place in God’s story. Here is an overview of what families appreciate most about our full-day private kindergarten.
A loving, encouraging learning environment
Solid academic and spiritual foundations at the early learning level are critical for student success in later years. That’s why we focus on educating the whole child and helping students develop their unique gifts.
Your child will be inspired academically, socially, and spiritually, and cultivate a love of learning through:
Care and support. Our kindergarten classroom is led by a credentialed teacher and supported by a full-time aide who are dedicated to meeting the needs of every student.
Biblical teachings. Through our Christ-centered approach to education, including Bible verse memorization, students learn to understand and appreciate positive, faith-based values.
Center-spaced learning. Children sit at tables arranged in rows instead of desks and take part in hands-on activities that encourage intellectual curiosity and collaboration, such as arts and crafts and circle-time sing-alongs.
Stimulating environment. From the playground to the music room, the library to the art room, our spaces are designed to delight your child and promote learning.
Kindergarten Program
Our kindergarten program runs five days a week. Students are in school from 8:15 a.m. to 3:05 p.m. To be eligible for kindergarten entry, children must be 5 years old by Sept. 1.
Curriculum
What does a day in the life of a kindergartner at ICS look like? Here’s what your little one will be learning:
Bible: Walking With God and His People (Christian Schools International)
Math: My Math (McGraw-Hill)
Science: Inspire Science (McGraw-Hill)
Language arts: Wonders (McGraw-Hill)
Social Studies: IMPACT Social Studies
Additionally, kindergartners have two recesses a day, during which they can enjoy our engaging, age-appropriate PreK-5 playground.
Extended Care
We offer both before care and after care every day. Additionally, we periodically offer after-school clubs for those seeking extended care and extracurricular involvement.
Before care: 7:15-8:13 a.m.
After care: 3:15-5:30 p.m.

“I love the ICS community. My son is thriving in kindergarten. His teacher is fun, but also firm enough to control a classroom well. My heart was just bursting as we practiced Bible verses for his class this morning. He is learning things far greater than reading, writing, and math. His heart is being molded. Love that most about ICS.”
Engaging Activities
Your child will enjoy art, music, and dancing, with physical education incorporated into the curriculum as well. There's also an emphasis on STEM, where students are immersed in science, math, engineering, and technology activities, such as learning the basic fundamentals of coding, simple experiments, building block models, exploring nature, and more. Starting in kindergarten, students also begin to learn Spanish.
Model of Kindness
Kindergartners participate in our school’s Pride Paw System, a program focused on recognizing positive character traits. Children nominated for the program are recognized during chapel in front of their peers, a highlight for many of them. Selected students are also awarded a certificate, pencil, and sticker, a proud talking point at school and at home.
Safety Features
We are dedicated to safeguarding the hearts and minds of our students through Christ-centered mentorship, which fosters respect and kindness in our school community. Additionally, trained and background-checked security officers are on rotation throughout the week. Entrances and classes are secured, modern security camera systems are in place, guests must have their ID scanned, and chaperones or volunteers must complete a state background check.
